Birkenstock, Pitti Uomo | Birkenstock | Fashion | Florence | 2016 |

The set for the presentation of Birkenstock’s collection was designed to offer guests and buyers a relaxing verdant outdoor experience – inviting respite and refuge during the customarily busy fashion fair. Reflecting the German footwear company’s core values of craftsmanship, comfort, and authenticity, the staged lush oasis comprised abundant planted areas and layered amoebic platforms incorporating the natural materials used to make its sandals (including cork and felt), upon which models stood.
A curvilinear plywood path encouraged free-flowing movement between the catwalk area and displayed ranges of closed-toes shoes, accessories, bedding and the newly launched natural cosmetic line. They included timber structures enclosing domestic settings bathed in golden, dappled light, plus large-format images of footwear angularly planted into beds of speckled caramel pebbles. With ample space between zones, visitors could meander back and forth to their preferred areas of interest with ease.
