Pattern’s interior design solutions navigate refined sensory pathways that harness the composed essence of sensual minimalism, in turn connecting people to spaces on an experiential level.
Embracing evocative qualities, our ambient creations span the retail, hospitality, commercial and residential sectors, always inviting tangible interactions. Led by Josh Cain and Lily Goodwin, Pattern’s working process involves meticulous investigation and exploration, enabling the delivery of considered and delightful environments with a focus upon custom solutions tailored to suit each client’s needs.
A fascination with the exchanges between people and place have led to local and international multi-disciplinary partnerships with fashion houses including Paul Smith, Chloé, and Birkenstock amongst others, as well as acclaimed designs for boutiques, hotels, bars, cafés and restaurants, plus residential sanctuaries.
Josh possesses a rigorous investigative and pragmatic approach to creating built environments. A strong conceptual focus enables his interiors to achieve a delightfully restrained simplicity of design. Providing guidance and assistance, he enables clients to articulate and realise their ambitions and objectives. In addition to his innate ability to lead and seamlessly coordinate teams and collaborators, Josh is able to synthesise high volumes of complex information and resolve constraints to advise on the best way to approach all aspects of design implementation.
Lily approaches her practice through narrative, creating immersive environments that draw upon emotional responses. A pan-cultural fusion of influences ripple through her creations, alongside which she consistently considers relevant contextual insights and perspectives. She possesses a sound understanding of the unique requirements of retail and hospitality design, and is informed by a keen awareness of market and consumer trends. This enables Lily to conceive solutions that enhance a brand's point of difference, allowing them to resonate in a competitive landscape the perceived value of their offering.
